I’ve eaten squirrel.

There. I’ve said it! It feels good to finally put it out there.

Growing up in the Midwest, squirrels were everywhere. (Darling little creatures, really!) In southern Missouri, it wasn't unusual for people to eat squirrel, much like they would eat rabbit (another darling little creature). It tastes like chicken. Squirrel was a quick meal if you didn't have time to go to the store. You just stepped out onto your back porch with a pellet gun and shot a squirrel or two for dinner. You certainly can't beat the price!
