Let’s step behind the lockboxes and “For Sale” signs for a moment. This week kicks off our new agent spotlight series, where we reveal the fun and totally unexpected sides of your favorite Realtors.

First up—Juliana!

Salsa! 💃

My first year of college, on a whim, I signed up for a salsa dance class on campus. I walked into a room filled with the sound of lively salsa music and the sight of over fifty people standing around, all staring at each other eager to learn salsa. As I found my spot, the guy next to me turned to me with a big smile, introduced himself, and asked if I’d like to dance. His name was Adonae, a foreign exchange student from Mexico.

One dance class turned into five years of dance together. Adonae and I became great friends, and before long, we were dedicated dance partners, practicing five days a week. As broke college students, we couldn’t afford to rent dance studio space, so we practiced anywhere we could find space and play loud salsa music—the gym, our living rooms, dance clubs.

Within a year, we began entering amateur salsa competitions at local clubs. Performing was so much fun and such an adrenaline rush. We even won a couple of times! What started as a spontaneous class turned into a really cool hobby. I still take dance classes from time to time and love hitting the dance floor whenever I get a chance.
