Is that thing even street legal? 😂

My 13-year-old spent the entire summer saving every dollar he earned for one thing: an e-bike. Except I quickly learned that when a teenage boy says “e-bike,” he may actually mean “small electric motorcycle that goes way too fast and absolutely does not belong on the street.”

Bike suggestion #1: No.

Bike suggestion #2: Also no.

After realizing that Mom was apparently going to insist on boring things like “street legal” and “age appropriate,” he finally sent me one I could actually approve. Success!

Living in Centennial Hills, I see kids riding these e-motos everywhere. Some of these things even cost thousands of dollars! I’m not sure when middle school transportation went from bicycles to miniature motorcycles, but here we are.

The good news? My son worked hard, saved his own money, and learned a little patience in the process.

The bad news? I have officially entered my “Is that thing street legal?!” era.
