Sprung

Spring has sprung, as they say. Every year, the ornamental plum tree outside the window of my home office starts to shoot out tender green buds when I'm still bundling up in a hat and gloves for my morning walk. Having lived in Las Vegas since 1990, experience tells me there's at least one more cold front coming through. Heedless of the cold, it blossoms riotously in white. On a windy day, the tree drops snowy petals onto the front yard and it sometimes freezes its buds off, haha. But it forges ahead, paying my worries no mind, a reminder that nature knows what it's about. I'm glad of it. If I had to notify every blade and bud, things wouldn't go well, since my knowledge and expertise is much better utilized in real estate than in nature!
