I Love Box Beautification

This past summer, I was driving up Lone Mountain and was delighted to see an artist hard at work transforming a boring gray electrical box into a colorful mural. It was a hot day and the artist had put up a shade structure over the electrical box but she was standing back in the warm sunshine with her head tilted to one side assessing her progress. I wished I'd had time to stop and chat with her. I've seen many completed boxes, but that was the first time I'd seen an artist at work.

Nondescript gray traffic-control, NV Energy, and water district boxes are being turned into works of art by local artists all around the city. It makes me happy every time I see one of the boxes. Keep your eye out as you're driving around town! The boxes are wonderful.
