Green Thumb

It's chilly this morning. Out my window I see a dusting of snow scattered across the Spring Mountains like powdered sugar on a craggy pastry bun. But still, spring is in the air and I can't help thinking about what I'm going to plant in my gardening beds this year. Don't let anyone tell you it's not possible to garden in Las Vegas! I enjoyed mustard greens, arugula, romaine, parsley, and dill from my winter garden and I'm thinking I'll plant tomatoes, chili peppers, chives, and tarragon in March. Mint and scallions grow year round. Besides using mint to flavor ice cold water, it can be used to make a wonderful, organic tabbouleh salad. The remainder of the ingredients I need for this light and refreshing salad are purchased as seedlings bought from Star Nursery. Happy Gardening!
